Iria translates selected text and localizes JSON/RESX on Windows.

• Only the MSI install supports automatic in-app updates; the portable ZIP has no updater and upgrades via a manual safe-upgrade ZIP.

Localization Studio capabilities

Studio supports multi-file JSON and RESX projects with glossary, source context, full RESX comments, exact project-scoped memory, limited TMX 1.1/1.4/1.4b import, plain-text TMX 1.4 export, translation imports with conflict review, revision sync, and release reports. Structural checks cover placeholders, markup, ICU/plural branches, quantities, limits, access keys and mnemonic proposals; they do not establish translation meaning or quality.

• New RESX entries can inherit developer comments as context. A changed effective inherited context revokes approval and retains the old draft context; differing manual overrides, including empty overrides, are preserved.
• New projects require human approval before export by default. Disabling that policy enables Translate & export automatically for current structurally valid drafts, while import, mnemonic and ICU review obligations remain.
• Studio 1.0.20 is published. The public MSI and portable links target 1.0.21.

Languages and platform

• Translation languages: Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Dutch, plus an auto-detect source option.
• Application interface: English or Spanish only. Website content in other languages does not change the app interface.
• Platform: Windows (x64), distributed as MSI installer or portable ZIP. Pronunciation uses installed Windows voices.

Models and first run

The first licensed run automatically downloads the required Best Quality local model (about 2.5 GB) and the app stays blocked until the download completes. A smaller fallback model (about 1.7 GB) can be installed as a secondary download where the app offers it; the Best Quality model is used whenever it is installed.

Replace behavior

Replace copies the translation to the clipboard and sends Ctrl+V to the focused app. It does not verify or restore the original selection: if the paste misses its target, the translation stays on the clipboard. Always check the pasted result in the target application.

Where it fits

Iria is designed for snippets, documentation, messages and other selected text inside Windows applications. Translation runs locally on the PC after online license validation.

It is a text translator, not a live audio caption tool. It works with selectable text in Windows apps; it does not translate full documents with layout preservation or capture screen and game text.
