You stopped translating: review saved drafts before starting over

Cancelling a batch does not turn drafts into a delivery

If you cancelled translation in Localization Studio, inspect the project before starting again: its documented workflow keeps drafts through cancellation and resume. Anything still a draft needs the relevant checks and approvals before export.

We mean cancelling work through Studio’s workflow. We do not promise recovery of deleted files, a failed disk or a forced system interruption.

Two strings, three different states

Invented case: a JSON project contains menu.save with “Guardar” and menu.cancel with “Cancelar”. Before stopping the batch, you had reviewed “Save”, while “Cancel” remained a draft awaiting review. These are states in our example, not an Iria screenshot or observed run.

When returning, do not approve both just because translated text exists. Check separately which source belongs to each resource, which draft exists and which review remains outstanding. Wording that looks finished may still lack a human decision.

For this case, your external continuity list could be:

ResourceWhat to keepWhat to check on return
menu.saveReviewed translation “Save”Source and context remain current
menu.cancelDraft “Cancel”Meaning, checks and pending approval

This table is an editorial aid you can write separately. It describes neither exact interface columns nor automatic memory of a review performed outside the project.

Resume before exporting

  1. Return to the relevant project and compare the original resources with their current versions. Review changed work before reusing a draft.
  2. Inspect preserved drafts. Existing translated text means the text is not absent; it does not prove correctness.
  3. Keep the default human-review policy and approve only what you have checked. Structural placeholder or markup checks do not replace reading for meaning.
  4. Review project blockers and release/export status. Then inspect the resulting files without assuming that the earlier cancellation produced a delivery.

Studio lets you explicitly disable the human-review policy and automatically export certain current drafts that pass supported checks. This article follows the default mode; it does not ask you to disable review to finish sooner. Import, ICU and access-key proposal obligations retain their review requirements.

Iria is a paid Windows x64 translator. Studio works with JSON/RESX projects and local translation; it is not universal document recovery. Consult the Localization Studio guide and official downloads. Quality depends on text, language pair and local model; review important results.
