The JSON is valid; the limit changed from 15 files to 50

Preserve the limit as well as the sentence

If the source allows 15 files and the translation allows 50, preserving the key and producing valid JSON does not preserve the message. Before export, compare the quantity with the current source and what the application actually permits. Fluent wording does not authorise a new limit.

The following is an invented resource for review in Iria Studio. It is not an Iria limit or an upload tested in another application.

Two resources that parse, two different permissions

Our English sample source:

{"upload_limit": "Upload at most 15 files."}

A Spanish draft with a deliberate error:

{"upload_limit": "Sube como máximo 50 archivos."}

The correction for this source:

{"upload_limit": "Sube como máximo 15 archivos."}

All three preserve an object containing one key and one string. The upload_limit key is unchanged. The draft error sits inside the value: it changes the permitted quantity. The JSON standard defines format syntax; it does not check a business or functional limit expressed in a sentence.

What to review in Localization Studio

The Studio documentation includes supported quantity checks alongside placeholders, formatting and other review obligations. Use the warnings your project shows, without assuming that one check certifies every business rule or every way of expressing numbers.

For this sample:

  1. Check that you are reading the current source revision and its corresponding target.
  2. Preserve the key and compare the quantity in the complete value: here, at most 15 files.
  3. Correct the draft and rerun the relevant checks.
  4. Review the message in the application context before approving it for release.

If someone confirms that the actual limit changed to 50, this becomes more than a translation decision. Update and validate the relevant source and implementation, then review the languages. Do not change only Spanish to reflect a rumour about a future version.

An approval you can explain

A manual note might say “Source reviewed: maximum 15; target corrected to 15; application context still to check.” That is not a promised Studio field or evidence of a test already performed. It distinguishes a corrected quantity from a product check that remains pending.

Weblate and Crowdin document their own quality checks. They were consulted on 26 October 2026 as localization references; their coverage is not attributed to Iria.

Iria is a paid Windows application available now. Its current facts explain the local engine and network/licensing requirements. Prepare a small sample without private data, then review both structural warnings and what the sentence permits: in this case, fifteen remains fifteen.
